I've got the same problem, the harddisk in my dell notebook (precision M70) extremly slowed down since the kernel update to 2.6.13-1.1526_FC4 - it became absolutly impossible to work on this computer: /dev/hda: Timing cached reads: 2784 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1391.91 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 6 MB in 3.03 seconds = 1.98 MB/sec Furthermore, I noticed that the harddrive formerly was /dev/sda1 and now is /dev/hda1, which is probably the reason but I don't know how to fix this. I hope there is an easy way, because I'm not that familiar with linux to go into compiling the kernel. best regards -Michael Nischt
