There were a few packages that needed some upgrades outside the Gnome core but everything seems to be working just fine so far. as for those of you interested I'll keep you posted how things go over the next couple of days if I have any major issues but nothing has reared it's head yet. At least with the applications I use most often. The only problems that have come up so far was the Firefox/Thunderbird invisible font issue.
