Yogesh, I have a similar system (AMD Sempron 2800+, 512M RAM). My grub entry looks like this: title Fedora Core root (hd0,1) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet initrd /initrd-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4.img I have a boot partition on /dev/hda2, / (root) on /dev/hda5 and swap on /dev/hda3. /dev/hda1 contains my NTFS (XP) setup. The root grub statement above points to my /dev/hda2 (boot) partition. If I didn't have the NTFS then my boot partition would be on /dev/hda1 (hd0,0).
