In any case you will still have to author the DVD if you want to play it as a DVD. I have not done this yet.

I have found that this is a massive learning curve. I found that working with one program was much more useful for my purposes than bouncing around between applications. I have grow partially knowledgeable with mplayer/mencoder but there are so many options available to the user that it could take years to become an expert. Hey, but that is what keeps me young.

Look at both of these links.

i've been playing with qdvdauthor recently. there was a bit of a
learning curve for me to figure out how to use it. and i had to change
the burning commands in it's burn dialog. i had problems with the
multiplexing (mplex program) of sound (actually no sound) in the menus.

but, its finally working. at least for menus with no sound. and, i'm
actually pretty pleased with it.

as i dis-remember exactly, i had to get the cvs version to get it to
compile on fc4 though.
