Any > suggestions on how to proceed? Mic in playback controls how the mic sound appears in the playback audio in realtime. Usually you want it muted. Hit TAB in alsamixer. select the Mic, hit Space to set it as the Capture source. Turn that Mic slider up. Should help. -Andy
