I am sure that this used to work, but I hagve just bought a new sound card after many months without sound after the old one gave up on me. The new card is an Audigy 2 Value, I am using emu10k1 driver. The sound card detection works in the GNOME desktop. However, I want the system beep to go through the sound card, and not to the tiny speaker in the case.
