Hello there, I am at a conference with a wireless network and desperately trying to make it work. I am new to NetworkManager but it been working successfully for non-key networks. Here I need a key. Card: Intersil PRISM2 11Mbps Wireless Adapter Driver orinoco_cs/orinoco/hermes The 'closest' attempt seemed to be the first. A helpful local system guy could see I was authorising, but not getting DHCP. But as DHCP worked for everyone else that was my problem. I tried to disable Networkmanager, and do things by hand but just got lots of error -16's and nothing worked again all day. Any ideas anyone? The log from the first try follows: Thanks, Bill Sep 12 09:28:35 wjmurray ntpd[2311]: synchronized to LOCAL(0), stratum 5 Sep 12 09:28:35 wjmurray ntpd[2311]: kernel time sync disabled 0041 Sep 12 09:29:38 wjmurray ntpd[2311]: kernel time sync enabled 0001 Sep 12 09:29:43 wjmurray NetworkManager: <WARNING> (): org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo.BadNetworkData raised 'NetworkManagerInfo::getNetworkProperties could not access essid for network 'networks'' Sep 12 09:31:24 wjmurray last message repeated 3 times Sep 12 09:31:24 wjmurray NetworkManager: <WARNING> (): org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo.BadNetworkData raised 'NetworkManagerInfo::getNetworkProperties could not access essid for network 'networks'' Sep 12 09:31:26 wjmurray kernel: eth1: New link status: Disconnected (0002) Sep 12 09:31:27 wjmurray kernel: hermes @ 00010100: Timeout waiting for command 0x0002 completion.
