So for now - using xxms with the faad2 plugin makes it play. And for completeness to the thread...I found that to export from gtkpod, I had to use this as a template for exporting m4a files from my iPod... %o;%a - %t.mp3;%t.wav;%t.m4a It would be nice if rhythmbox worked in this kind of environment but I suppose that isn't going to work well in FC-3 perhaps FC-4 Thanks Craig
