With difficulty.

It's a tad late for this advice, but for next time install with stow http://www.gnu.ai.mit.edu/software/stow/stow.html Stow (a Perl script) keeps track of all the files installed by installing them in a seperate directory (/usr/local/stow) and then making links in the usual places to the files in /usr/local/stow. From here, uninstalling is straightforward.

http://www.gnu.ai.mit.edu/software/stow/stow.html ain't reely working is it ?

http://www.gnu.org/software/stow/ is much better ! :-)

And http://freshmeat.net/projects/gnustow/ is much MUCH better ! :-))
