If you do not use 3D, try the Free nv driver instead in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
If that fails too try the vesa driver.

Thanks for the advice but I really need 3D since I play World of
Warcraft using Cedega (was working very great on my old FC4 32bit)
I can confirm that generic driver work on my 64bit system (driver nv).

Did you download the right drivers from the nvidia 64 bit system either AMD64 or
ia64?
