One possibility, at least with the JPackage RPM is messed up
alternatives.

   ls /var/lib/alternatives

will show you the various "master" alternatives on the system.  For each
one that looks Java related, do

   alternatives --display ALTERNATIVE_NAME

and make sure that everything is pointing to the correct place.  As a
quick check, you can also look for any broken symlinks in
/etc/alternatives.

The best course of action is to go to the Sun site and download their
latest java. It works better and is a later version than the FC4
Java.--

Where do you suppose the OP got jre1.5.0_04/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so from?
