What you are asking is difficult to do at best. First question would be: Why do you want to do this? Next: You will need to do a LOT of research..... (1) What are the important differences between 2.2.26 and the current running kernel? (2) Will they effect the operation of the system if I use the older kernel (most likely YES)? (3) Does the older kernel support the file-system used with the new kernels? Did you use ext2 or ext3, with or without journaling services, etc? (4) Does it support my hardware? The older kernels used hardware that was in wide use at the time, but much of which is not supported by todays advanced hardware. (5) Do you need to back-port any of the installed support files? Probably the best solution would be to find an OS old disks that used this kernel revision.....
