ext2 and ext3 problem

I installed FC4 on an ext2 partition and then
installed another copy on an ext3 partition. They
share the same /boot partition. Now I couldn't boot
into the ext2 partition, after I added the ext2
partition to grub.conf. Is this due to initrd or grub?
