I'm running WinXP inside of VMware 5 on a FC4 host. Everything seems to
work fine (networking, shared files, etc.) except for when I run in
fullscreen mode at 1024x768. It appears that for some strange reason my
screen is being de-interlaced somehow. It's hard to describe, but every
other row of pixels is a copy of the row above it, only slightly
darkened. Taking a screenshot of the Windows environment shows a proper
desktop so Windows thinks it's drawing the right thing, but somewhere along
the line things mess up and I can't figure out why.
Outside of VMware, 10x7 works fine for FC4. VMware at 10x7 in windowed
mode works properly, as does fullscreen mode in any other resolution, but
at 10x7 fullscreen I get this messed-up display. I can't simply run XP at
a different resolution, since one of the games I use it for automatically
sets the resolution to 10x7 with no option to change it.
I've already posted in the VMware forums but didn't get any useful
information. Anyone here have any ideas?
thanks in advance
Dan
