No. The limits are the alarm limits for the lm-sensors software
and they aren't related to fan control. Your CPU would be fried
long before the temperature reaches 120C.

It might cease to operate, but I doubt it would suffer damage.
Typical limits are -65C to +150C for storage of chips.
