Run another OS, say, Memtest86 from a (vdos?)
floppy, or Knoppix from a CD.
I'd start with Memtest86.
Hi,
I ran memtest86 from a floopy and it is reporting high
numbers of memory test failures. I ran the same
program on a stable machine and that has shown no
memory errors.
I am going to see if I have some spare, suitable
memory I can swap, and maybe invest in some new memory
- in the hope the memory is the problem and I am not
throwing good money after bad
Sounds like you've found the problem. You might try some memory
from the working machine. New memory may or may not be good, the
memory in the working machine is known good.

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
