SMP=Symmetric Multi Processing. It's basically for systems with two or more 
processors (or maybe the new "dual-core" CPUs.) It won't hurt to have both in 
there. If your system can use the SMP kernel, it'll be great. If not, it 
shouldn't hurt anything.
