I've just checked my system log, and found the following which I guess is the
problem.

Jul 29 21:24:11 localhost hal.hotplug[4893]: DEVPATH is not set (subsystem
input)
Jul 29 21:24:13 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 56
Jul 29 21:24:13 localhost kernel: input: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [1241:1111] on
usb-0000:00:1d.0-1
Jul 29 21:24:13 localhost hal.hotplug[4962]: DEVPATH is not set (subsystem
input)
Jul 29 21:24:13 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 56
Jul 29 21:24:14 localhost hal.hotplug[5003]: DEVPATH is not set (subsystem
input)
Jul 29 21:24:14 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using
uhci_hcd and address 57
Jul 29 21:24:14 localhost kernel: input: USB HID v1.00 Mouse [1241:1111] on
usb-0000:00:1d.0-1
Jul 29 21:24:14 localhost hal.hotplug[5017]: DEVPATH is not set (subsystem
input)
Jul 29 21:24:33 localhost kernel: usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 57

OK, so what should I do to fix this.

Many thanks in advance.

Chris
