I have all the kde3.4.1 rpms but any attempt to install them is met with mighty resistance from rpm due to several dozen missing dependencies as related elsewhere in this thread. I just followed the directions in the link, including adding the new repo's to my yum.conf, but even so, no kde was offered for install. I did install bluez-libs and boost, but another pass at installing the rpms for kde3.4.1 gives this result: error: Failed dependencies: qt >= 1:3.3.4 is needed by arts-1.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde qt-devel >= 1:3.3.4 is needed by arts-devel-1.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde qt-styles is needed by kdeartwork-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde /etc/X11/xdm/Xwilling is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libHalf.so.2 is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libIex.so.2 is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libIlmImf.so.2 is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libImath.so.2 is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde qt >= 1:3.3.4 is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde redhat-artwork >= 0:0.122 is needed by kdebase-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libqscintilla.so.5 is needed by kdebindings-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libHalf.so.2 is needed by kdegraphics-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libIex.so.2 is needed by kdegraphics-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libIlmImf.so.2 is needed by kdegraphics-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libImath.so.2 is needed by kdegraphics-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde liblcms.so.1 is needed by kdegraphics-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libsane.so.1 is needed by kdegraphics-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libHalf.so.2 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libIex.so.2 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libIlmImf.so.2 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libImath.so.2 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libdns_sd.so.1 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libidn.so.11 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libjasper-1.701.so.1 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde qt >= 1:3.3.4 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde redhat-menus >= 3.7 is needed by kdelibs-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde qt-devel >= 1:3.3.4 is needed by kdelibs-devel-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libmusicbrainz.so.4 is needed by kdemultimedia-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libtag.so.1 is needed by kdemultimedia-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libtheora.so.0 is needed by kdemultimedia-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libtunepimp.so.2 is needed by kdemultimedia-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libvorbis >= 1:1.1.0 is needed by kdemultimedia-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libxine.so.1 is needed by kdemultimedia-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libidn.so.11 is needed by kdenetwork-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libmeanwhile.so.0 is needed by kdenetwork-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde libslp.so.1 is needed by kdenetwork-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde /usr/bin/pinentry-qt is needed by kdepim-3.4.1-1.1.fc2.kde libgnokii.so.2 is needed by kdepim-3.4.1-1.1.fc2.kde libgpgme.so.11(GPGME_1.0) is needed by kdepim-3.4.1-1.1.fc2.kde libmal.so.0 is needed by kdepim-3.4.1-1.1.fc2.kde graphviz is needed by kdesdk-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde valgrind >= 0:2.0.0 is needed by kdesdk-3.4.1-1.0.fc2.kde Suggested resolutions: sane-backends-1.0.13-7.i386.rpm xorg-x11-xdm-6.7.0-2.i386.rpm [root@coyote kde3.4.1]# Now, I'm not screwing with sane-backends, my scanner is working just fine thank you, being run from tarball built stuff several years ago now.
