Nothing in /etc/rc.local (it's still in standard install). I don't have iptables running (from system-config-securitylevel Firewall is disabled) since I am on a LAN behind a firewall anyway. It's pretty weird. I've looked at the init scripts and couldn't see anything obvious. Could SELinux be the problem ? The machine also running ypbind for network authentication, but I can't see why that should be a problem.... RDB
