I'll debate what would be easier > over the next few days. ---- Good planning was always an option, the tools may have changed slightly but even early versions of DHCP servers from ISC or Microsoft have always allowed you to specify the range of addresses to be served out and to fix specific hardware (MAC) to specific addresses.
