Hi Terry,
Thanks for your email. I should have provided more details in my
original email. Being aware of the 4k of memory issue, I recompiled
the kernel and also tried the Linuxant kernels. I was able to get
the lights going on the modem, but could never achieve a connection
with the router.
One thing about recompiling the kernel, though. When I used xconfig
to remove the 4k limit, it only gave me the option to disable the
limit and indicated that FC4 would use a 8k limit. I though 16 k was
needed in some cases.
As you suggested, I also used the Network utility to try to activate
the card. The lights came on (as I mentioned), but it could not
connect. I tried several different settings.
I'm going to try it in SUSE, and see what happens, which is too bad
because I really like FC4.
Thanks for your email.

I am using ndiswrapper on FC4. Some network card drivers require more
than 4k of memory to be able to use the network card. The FC kernels
only allow 4k drivers to be loaded. This is written on the
ndiswrapper website.
I currently use a Dell TrueMobile 1350 wireless network card which
works in the 4k space. If your network card requires more space to
work you may only get a card that doesn't work at all or a card that
lights up the lights but doesn't make a connection.
You will have to recompile your kernel so that it doesn't limit the
driver size to 4k. The ndiswrapper site used to have kernels for FC
that had different limits in a RPM format for quick install.
Otherwise once you have the ndiswrapper compiled and installed, have
to add the network adapter using the -i switch, and the -m switch to
add it to modprobe.conf (I think).
Then use the Network utility in Gnome to add a wireless network
adapter and pick the ndiswrapper network card. Then you can setup any
ssid, wep, and other settings you need. Activate the card and it
works.

Hello all,
Is anyone aware of a FAQ or webpage that provides ndiswrapper
information specific to Fedora?
I'm currently trying to get a mimo-based wireless card to work with
FC4. It's active, but I haven 't been able to make it connect.
Thanks.
