THANKYOU JDOW! *kisses*
Ok, I went to the ifcfg-earthlink file and made the following changes:
(basically I made it match the ifcfg-seanet file)
# Please read /usr/share/doc/initscripts-*/sysconfig.txt
# for the documentation of these parameters.
USERCTL=yes
PEERDNS=yes
TYPE=Modem
DEVICE=ppp1
BOOTPROTO=dialup
(The below I was playing with and were all off before)
AC=off (was on)
BSDCOMP=off (was on)
VJCCOMP=off (was on)
CCP=off (was on)
PC=off (was on)
VJ=off (was on)
LINESPEED=115200
MODEMPORT=/dev/ttyS4
PROVIDER=Earthlink
(I'll assume it was this line. What does it do anyway?)
DEFROUTE=yes (was no)
(And what is this?)
PERSIST=yes (was no)
PAPNAME='ELN/lokrin2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' (didn't have ELN/ prefix)
WVDIALSECT=Earthlink
MODEMNAME=Modem0
DEMAND=no
IPV6INIT=no (was yes)
IDLETIMEOUT=600
Um, I'd leave the compression on. My experience is that turning it off
means Earthlink rejects the call.
{^_^}
Well, I'm using Earthlink right now. Any particular compression? Or
does it matter?
