Up to the latest kernel release (FC3), I have had fairly little trouble syncing my Palm devices using jpilot, although it was touch and go when udev came along. (Remind me why this was such a good idea?) I have never got the "advanced" kde/gnome/evolution working satisfactorily. YMMV.
