All the machines will be in separate locations and dial in to, uhh, what?
I mean, are all those modems really necessary?  If they are, who's goint to
pay the phone bill?  If not, ethernet cards are pretty cheap, and so are
10baseT switches.  There may be better network topologies, but it only
needs to be better than modems.
