Just a tidbit that might interest you: I had to upgrade the firmware of my DVR-109 to version 1.55. The version it came with (1.40) gave very poor CD-R recording speeds (it was reporting max 4x capability to cdrecord). Now it records as expected. Cheers Steffen.
