The responder was one josh:
edit /etc/sysconfig/network:
-(finn@suburbia)-(pts/2)-(09:09PM 07/25)-(err:0)-
-(~) % cat /etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=suburbia
Alternatively, run system-config-network and click the DNS tab. Update
the hostname there and then save.
