1. Please do not top post. It is hard to follow the text you are
replying to when you do that.

2. I agree mostly with your recommendations.

However,
	a. 100MB is adequate for the /boot partition.
	b. the swap partition usually does not need to be 2 X physical memory
and has not needed that for several years. My machine, running a LOT of
services including httpd, mysql, postgresql, samba, and many others with
512MB memory has not _ever_ hit swap in over 200 days of uptime. I do
keep a 512MB swap partition, but it has been mostly for the "in case"
need and not that it has ever been actually needed.

Note that the need for swap depends on the services running and activity
level of the machine and YMMV, but for most home users I do not
recommend more than 512MB swap for a start. Allowing 1GB of swap is
fine if the space is available to waste, but in most cases not needed.

I was not given any option and the system went down. When I started my machine, it started all the services but was not able to start GNOME panel. Taking this as an opportunity to install Windows, I install windows by formatting entire disk. Installation went well but when I booted, my system it displayed me "GRUB". nothing happens after that.
