Linux boasts of the strongest chess entity in the form of Hydra which replaced Deep Blue (IBM RS/6000 powerhouse). Xboard/Gnuchess do not have the features of Fritz 1 yet Fritz 9 is being released this fall. It is time for the developers to look at Hydra's example and pull their socks.
