Dear Sir or Madam, The problems with rpm-queries and rpm-installs experienced after upgrading to FC4 as mentioned on the 22nd of june were related to the usage of the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 environment variable needed for professional software compiled with older glibc-variants. Turns out that removing this variable completely restores the functionality of the redhat-packet-manager. And even sweeter still : it turns out that under FC4 ANSYS 9.0 does not need this LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1-variable anymore. So I'm satisfied with the received suggestions here ........ but there is one other problem I have with FC4 .....
