Re: mknod failures on boot - FC4

This must just be an erroneous error from the init, as all three devices appear to be there...

[dn108 ~]# ls -l /dev/zero /dev/console /dev/null
crw-rw---- 1 root root 5, 1 Jun 16 15:42 /dev/console
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 3 Jun 16 11:41 /dev/null
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 5 Jun 16 11:41 /dev/zero

As an aside, there's been a bugzilla entry on this since FC4T2 apparently: #157129

Anyone know the reason for the following boot errors?

mknod: failed to create /dev/console
mknod: failed to create /dev/null
mknod: failed to create /dev/zero

This is with FC4 running on an older Compaq SMART-2SL array.

Aha! After upgrading the Compaq SMART-2SL firmware from 4.16 to 4.50, the mknod failures at boot went away.

Spoke too soon. Upgrading the firmware did NOT (unfortunately) fix this for me. :(
