Cups driver mystery.

In the Cups System Administrator Manual it suggests that if you want to
set up a desk jet printer using the lpadmin command the -m option
identifying the driver should be: -m deskjet.ppd

That does not work since the deskjet file is gzipped and named:
deskjet.ppd.gz. So -m deskjet.ppd.gz will work or you could gunzip the
driver file.

So where is the problem? Is this a typo in the manual? I really can't
believe that one should gunzip all of the driver files.

What is the scoop?
