I ran into a problem a while back with Java and the latest glib packages
when I tried to use javaws the system would run at 100% CPU and the java
code would not execute, it appeared to be hung in a wait loop.

I recently installed jre 1.5 and this appears to be resolved.

This may not be a problem with your browser but is something to keep in
mind.

You should also verify that you have the correct plugin library linked
to the correct version of the jre you are using.

The plugin directories under /usr/lib/firefox-1.0.4 and /usr/lib/mozilla
are where the links need to be located.
