hey friends,

 I have installed FC3 on HP machine.I have configured Mail
Server(Postfix + Dovecot + Squirrelmail) and also my samba server is
on the same machine.

What happens that for last 2 days when i comes to the office in the
morning the network card stops responding.

I did ping to the gateway 192.168.1.1 but there was no response.

I checked the network cable everything was intact.

I did ifconfig and there was no ipaddress shown for the eth0.

eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0B:CD:E2:F1:46
          inet addr:192.168.1.3  Bcast:192.168.1.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::20b:cdff:fee2:f146/64 Scope:Link
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:38988 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:41439 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:27597573 (26.3 MiB)  TX bytes:24603859 (23.4 MiB)
          Interrupt:5

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
          inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:2791 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:2791 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:3199854 (3.0 MiB)  TX bytes:3199854 (3.0 MiB)

As you can see the ipaddress is shown ,but before rebooting the
machine there were no entries in eth0 for "inet addr" and "inet6
addr".

What i forgotten today was to restart the network service ,but
yestarday i did the same and there was not change in the system.Means
still the network device was not responsding.

But after restarting the machine everything works fine.

My Office timings are from 9:30 am to 6:30 PM.

Any pointers where I should look for.

Thanks & Regards

Ankush Grover
