The biggest problem with running linux on a ibook is simply that as far as I know there's no way to get the broadcom airforce chipset on the wireless card working under linux on the mac. On x86 you can use ndis driver loader or something similar. in the larger powerbooks there's a pc-card slot so you can use that. the older power/i/books had the airport which was an avaya/agere prism based chipset.
