How about
~ - lvm2 obsoletes lvm1 with a post-install script to upgrade any LVM1 partitions?
~ - Firefox obsoletes Mozilla with RPMTRANS_FLAG_KEEPOBSOLETE ?
and if that isn't good enough, how about adding an RPM token that is?
