My Display Settings show 1024x768, but the screen resolution only shows 640x480 and 84 hz refresh rate. Also, I can't get Fedora to change from the VESA Driver (generic) video driver. My monitor is set correctly, but the video card change won't stick, and my resolution is way too low to be able to see any of the screens.

Any help?

Change the hardware settings of your monitor to generic CRT 1024x768, or your actual monitor if you can find it in there. Then you should be able to choose 1024x768 as your resolution.
