Hi,

I'm having some "issues" getting FC3 and WinXP (I know, I know...)
play nice on my new system.

The setup:
   (1) Drive #1: WinXP (/dev/sda)
   (2) Drive #2: FC3 (/dev/sdb)

The card:
   00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82801FR/FRW (ICH6R/ICH6RW)
           SATA Controller (rev 03)
00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW
(ICH6 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03)
00:1c.1 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW
(ICH6 Family) PCI Express Port 2 (rev 03)

Bootloader:
   WinXP bootloader (/dev/sda) -> Grub (/dev/sdb1)

What Happens:
   (1) Boots when "RAID Autodetect / AHCI" (Raid if signal drive,
otherwise AHCI) is selected in the BIOS.
   (2) Boots when "SATA/PATA Combination mode" is selected in the BIOS.

The question:
Is it possible to get (2) to boot in "RAID Autodetect / AHCI" mode?
Changing the BIOS settings every time is somewhat painful.

I tried:
Recompiling the kernel (2.6.11-1.14_FC3smp) with various SATA/AHCI
drivers built-in (instead of as modules), but nothing seems to
   help.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Wait for FC4. It supports the autodetect/AHCI stuff. FC3 won't run on my new Dimension 8400, but FC4RC3 runs very nicely.
