Ok, I tried yum -d 10 update with a clean empty log file in /var/log,
after running the command the log file is still empty. There is no log
file output.

As a side note, I have fedora 3 on 5 linux boxes here.

1 athlon 2600
1 athlon 2200
1 athlon 1.3 thunderbird
1 p3 750
1 p4 1.6

All are update about 5 mornings per week, they are not identical
installs as far as packages are concerned. 2 name servers, 1 print
server, etc.

I am having the same problem with all five machines now.

Just in case, I did rpm --rebuilddb, thought there might be some rpm
problems. No help.

I did an rpm -ivh --replacefiles --replacepkgs yum*.rpm with the current
version 2.2 whatever. No help.

I am thoroughly at a loss now.
