I didn't have to create any sort of raid for the modules to load at boot time. I might of had to set some kind of service to start--but I don't think I even had to do that! It was great :)
Is it possible that you already had the drivers needed being loaded, perhaps for another drive? I know i need to load AIC7xxx for the SCSI card, at the very minimum. I'm just not sure what other drivers I would need to get md running. I guess I'm just going to have to close my eyes and try it.
