Thanks!

Btw, the instructions on compiling with ALSA mode say:

1. Configure your kernel and enable ALSA and ICH based modem support
( 'Device Drivers' -> 'Sound' -> 'Advanced Linux Sound Architecture' ->
    'PCI devices' -> 'Intel i8x0/MX440; AMD768/8111 modems' ) .

Where is this "Device Driver" part in FC3? I could not see it on the GNOME panel.

Don't need to do anything about this. ALSA *is* the sound library for FC3.

Thanks and best wishes!

OK, so I have one of those PCTEL modems in my

linux. Does slmodemd work with the latest
kernel? Has anyone been
successful?
slmodemd works well but for smartlink chipset modems.
For PCTEL it could work but only the ones that are
supported by slmodem-2.9.X.
If so, any pointers?

I have it working just fine on my Thinkpad (last I
checked, a couple of
kernels ago). I compile with the ALSA drivers and
follow the
instructions.

Many thanks! I will try it out as you suggest.

Best wishes!

Many thanks!
