Very cool! I had not even considered this route. From a shell it's as easy as: # dcop kdesktop KScreensaverIface enable false to disable the screen saver. I tried this from Perl: system "dcop kdesktop KScreensaverIface enable false"; which does not work. I see there is a dcop library for Perl I'll have to look into tonight.
