Separating /home out by default is pretty good for non-technical users, though. And using LVM (eventually, when there's nice pretty end-user tools to manage it) will actually make it *easier* to have separate partitions, since it makes managing various partition sizes less of an issue.
Perhaps you can file an RFE against anaconda if this isnt done already.
