Now that you've built yourself a kernel from source, you might want to
try building your own kernel RPM too. There's a useful tutorial on doing
this at:

http://crab-lab.zool.ohiou.edu/kevin/kernel-compilation-tutorial-en/

If you build and install your kernel this way, you'll find that the RPM
post-install script will by default set up grub to boot with your new
kernel.
