Firewire and FC3 woes

Hello everyone,

I've searched the archives and found several "solutions" to problems
with FC3 and Firewire, but I've tried them and they don't seem to
work.

First, have a laptop, Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600, running FC3. I have
a PCMCIA firewire card.

lspci produces:
0b:00.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): NEC Corporation uPD72874 IEEE1394 OHCI
1.1 3-port PHY-Link Ctrlr (rev ff)

/var/log/messages says:

Apr 17 00:39:48 localhost kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:0b:00.0
(0000 -> 0002)
Apr 17 00:39:48 localhost kernel: ohci1394: fw-host0: Unexpected PCI
resource length of 1000!
Apr 17 00:39:48 localhost kernel: ohci1394: fw-host0: OHCI-1394 1.1
(PCI): IRQ=[11] MMIO=[11800000-118007ff] Max Packet=[2048]

I'm trying to use a combo USB 2.0/Firewire external hard drive.

I've followed these instructions on solving this, but neither help:

https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-December/msg06925.html

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Kevin
