Failure began with the update of the kernel to 2.6.11-1.14_FC3, but was fine under 2.6.10-1.770_FC3. Interesting part is that the startup is declaring that it is OK, but a check of the running processes finds no instance of ntpd. The status declares that it is dead but pid file exists. BTW, this is on a ThinkPad (Pentium M 1.6 w/ 1G RAM).... --Rob
