see mine, this is working:

poll [yourmailserver] proto [imap/pop3]
user ["username"] is  [yourlocaluser] here
password ["userspassword"]

the "" in username and password are mandatory! Btw. remove the * with the realmailboxname, that should get the mail -
even if it is catchall.
