(1) This is really a question for the Test list.
(2) Usually, the test releases are upgradeable from test release 1 ... through the last test release. Unfortunately, in most if not all cases, the release version is not upgradeable from the test releases. I'm not sure if this is by design or not; but, sometimes they have to back-track several test packages to fix problems that other test releases caused.
(3) Usually the major jumps FC1 -->> FC2 -->> FC3 -->> FC4 are OK; but, not always.
