With the given information I have some doubts anybody can answer your
question. At least not me. You didn't say what exactly you did during
installation. You don't provide any reliable information about the grub
setup nor the partition table. What do you mean with 7301 cylinders in
contrast to 1024? grub has no "1024 cylinder barrier problem" known from
older boot loaders.
