When coping the individual partitionas on my systems, I could copy the 98, XP, and Linux ext3 partitions with no problem, but trying to copy the whole drive would fail at the boot partition, and trying to image the boot partition by itself would also fail. It worked fine with FC1 and FC2, but it seems there is something in the partition that confuses Norton. I use G4L, and it currently creates a 14+GB file using lzop compression in about 1 hour using a system with 98 (hda1), XP (hda5), boot (hda6), and linux (hda7) from an 80GB drive. The restore takes about 50 minutes for a single machines, but I can also restore a full lab of 20 machines at the same time using udpcast options in under 1 hour. I've had the ability to modify G4L that I don't have for either G4U or Ghost, so I've moved to using it. I wouldn't see a problem with spliting the file created by G4L, how to then directly restore that file would be an issue. This ability of Norton Ghost, is a big plus, and the ability to restore indivual files, and finally to resize partitions. > fedora-list mailing list > fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx > To unsubscribe: http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list > +----------------------------------------------------------+ Michael D.
